This paper investigates on the adopted words of ABCge(ABC契, 1909) by Nam-Seon Choi from Japanese versions. And also it observes Choi's original idea as a consequence in comparison with the examinations of survey data. The achievement of the research is same as the following. According to the comparison between ABCkumiai(ABC組合, 1902) by Hoitsuan Hara and ABCge(ABC契, 1909) by Nam-Seon Choi, Choi had words that could be regarded as Shinkango(新漢語, Words created at Meiji era to express new conceptional words from West), for example ‘individual(個人), communist(共産黨), terrorism(恐?), republic(共和), nationality(國粹), power(權力), right(權利), idea(理想), civilized(文明人), democracy(民主政治), thinker(思想家), patriot(愛國者), savage(野蠻), barbarism(野蠻人), duty(義務), forward march(前進), principle(主義), necessity(必要)’. These words can be said the result of progressive attitude for accepting new cultural concept from Western. On the other hand, 'cafe(茶館), cartridge(彈丸包)’ is thought to be Choi's newly coined words. Also, hakge(學藝) and minzu(民主), part of Choi's plural words are transitional words to express west's 'science' and 'Republic'. (Research Institute for Language & Information, Korea University)
